Alaçatı Villa Rental

Alaçatı sits on the Çeşme peninsula on Turkey's Aegean coast, and it feels different from the Mediterranean towns: cooler, windier, and built in cut stone rather than white render. The old town is a grid of restored Greek houses with blue shutters, now largely cafés, boutiques and small hotels. The wind that made it a windsurfing centre also keeps summer evenings pleasant. Villas are typically in the newer districts around the old town or out towards the vineyards and Çeşme.

Where to stay in Alaçatı

Old town edge

Walkable to the stone streets and restaurants, with villas in quieter side lanes. The most convenient choice if you plan to eat out.

Vineyard side

Larger plots inland among the vines, noticeably quieter, a 5–10 minute drive from town.

Çeşme and Ilıca

Closer to the sandy beaches and thermal waters, with a more resort-like feel and easy beach access.

When to go

May to October. The Aegean is cooler than the Mediterranean — sea temperatures peak around 24 °C — and the meltemi wind blows through summer, which is why the town is comfortable in August when the south coast is not. Windsurfing conditions are best from June to September.

Getting there

İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB) is about 1 hour 15 minutes away. İzmir also has high-speed rail and ferry connections, making Alaçatı the easiest Aegean villa destination to reach without flying.

Local tips

The Saturday market is a genuine local market, not a tourist one — go early.
Restaurants in the old town book out from Thursday evening in season.
Windsurfing schools at Alaçatı Bay rent equipment by the hour for beginners.
Beaches are mostly organised beach clubs rather than public sand; expect a sunbed charge.
