Göcek villa rental

Göcek is small by design: development is restricted, there are no large hotels, and the town is essentially six marinas, a main street and the hills behind. It is the starting point for gulet cruises through the Gulf of Fethiye — twelve islands, dozens of anchorages, and water that stays flat because the bay is enclosed. Villas here tend to sit in the hills with views over the marina and islands, or among the citrus groves on the flat land behind town.

When to go

Because the bay is sheltered, the sea warms early and stays calm. June and September are excellent. July and August are busy with charter traffic — the town fills in the evenings when boats come in. Winter is very quiet; many restaurants close.

Getting there

Dalaman (DLM) is the closest airport at around 25 minutes, which makes Göcek the easiest of the coastal towns to reach. Transfers are quick enough that a car is optional if you are staying near the marina, but useful for exploring.

Local tips

• Day boats leave from the main quay each morning; the twelve-islands route is the classic.
• Göcek has no real town beach — most swimming happens from boats or at nearby beach clubs.
• The town is walkable end to end in fifteen minutes, so marina-side villas genuinely do not need a car.
• Provisioning is easier here than in smaller towns; there is a proper supermarket on the main road.
